Who Am I?
Hey y'all I'm April...
Yes, that is correct, I said "y'all." I'm a born and bred North Carolina southern girl, so that word is used often in my vocabulary. Thank you all for visiting my site and hopefully considering me to photograph your family. Here is a little about what makes me who I am.
~ I love my Jesus, my family, and my friends.
~ I'm married to the love of my life Patrick.
~ I am a registered nurse turned photographer. So all my photo skills were taught by trial and error. No time for school when you worked 3rd shift at the hospital. I have a background in post surgical and maternal/newborn nursing. People ask, "Why did you switch professions?" My response, "It was God's plan I guess." It still blows me away that God has allowed me to be on this journey. I left the hospital in 2010 and haven't looked back. And "yes", before you ask...I do keep my license active.
~ I became an official business in 2005, and almost 18 years later...still going. Wow!! So crazy when I think about it.
~ I love sweet tea and Mountain Dew.
~ I love me some good 'ol pizza, spaghetti, and most anything chicken.
~ I have weird OCD tendencies that I am often made fun of.
~ I'm definitely a homebody, but I wish I could travel to places I've never been. I am a sucker for anyplace that has water. I love fishing, hunting, and wearing my camo crocs. :)
~ I talk A LOT. I get it honest from my daddy, so I won't be offended if you tell me to hush.
~ Probably my worst trait...I'm a procrastinator. But in my defense, and I have witnesses...I work best under pressure. Always have and always will.
These are just a few things about my life. Plenty more to learn. I love meeting new people and learning about other families that are as crazy as mine. I hope we have a chance to meet and begin a new friendship. I have a sign I bought years ago that is hanging in the studio. It says, "Enter as strangers, Leave as friends." Words couldn't be more true. One of the biggest rewards of this job, is seeing babies grow into little ones who come running in screaming "Miss April". Makes my heart melt. My clients are more than just that...they are my family. Thank you again to everyone for your prayers, love, and support. I wouldn't be here without you. May God bless you all!!!
