Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
>> I am located in Mount Pleasant, NC. About 10 minutes outside of Concord. Address of my studio is 8578 Park Drive Mt Pleasant, NC 28124
How do I book a session?
>> Send me a message through the contact page, Facebook, or just call me.
Where do the sessions take place?
>> We can do them here at the studio or at location of your choice.
What is the difference in a full session vs mini session?
>> The main difference is time. A full session could last between 1-3 hours and a mini session is a 15 minute session. Mini sessions are only offered during special times of the year. Typically one event per season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Christmas). Keep watch for upcoming events through my Facebook page or the events tab here on the site.
What happens if the weather is bad during our outdoor session?
>> Obviously, we can't control the weather, so we will reschedule your appointment or make other arrangements.
How do you describe your style?
>> I love authentic images that are filled with emotion. I love bright colors and warm sunshine. I seek out genuine moments that make me FEEL something. Most photos are lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first and then encourage interaction and real expressions while I snap away. If you want to sum it up in a couple of words, my work shows real life.
HELP!! I am not photogenic!!
>> Believe it or not, pretty much EVERYONE tells me this before their session, and it never turns out to be true! I love coaching my clients through having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible. I promise!
What if my child doesn't cooperate?
>> I love getting to know my clients’ kids, even the ones who are shy/stubborn/you name it! I always approach the session as a new friend who’s just there to play and have a good time. I have all the patience in the world, and I find that being easy-going translates to happy kiddos. That being said, not every moment of the session is perfect, and that’s totally OK — in fact, it’s encouraged! In 10 years, I’m willing to bet that you’ll cherish the image of your toddler crying fake tears just as much as the one that we took 10 seconds later of him happily running toward the camera. My goal is to capture the personalities of the kids in front of my lens, including all of the beautiful quirks, details, and small moments that make up childhood.
What can I do to make the session go smoothly?
>> The BEST thing you can do is to let go and enjoy! I know it’s hard not to be stressed before your session, but babies pick up on anxiety really easily. We’ll have the best chance at getting gorgeous images if we let them happen naturally (with a little guidance from me, of course!) I want your pictures to be amazing and will do all the hard work for you! Your only job is to relax and have fun. :)
Once the session is done, how long does it take to get my pictures back?
>> Since I have so many clients passing through, I like to stay up to date on the editing part. My goal is to always have proofs from your session done within a 2-3 week time period. Once in a blue moon, unforeseen circumstances may happen that might delay that time frame. Coz lets get real...life happens when you least expect it. Once proofs are ready, I like to post a few on my Facebook page (with your permission) so you can share with friends and family. At that time, your gallery is made available for download. I will be in contact with you throughout this whole process so you will be in the loop.
The images...can I print my own pictures?
>> Yes! Once your gallery is edited, you will receive a downloadable link (through Dropbox), where you can save your files including a release giving you permission to print and share your photographs. There will also be an opportunity for you to order different products and prints from me at the time of your proofing. This is not required though. I just like giving you choices. I do order from a professional lab, so the quality will be on point!
I know this is a lot of information just for a photo shoot, but don't worry, my goal is to make this experience as easy and stress free as possible. Please let me know if you have any further questions that I didn't include.
